One of rap’s biggest stars, Cardi B, has dubbed American Dream in East Rutherford the “best place in the world,” so it’s no surprise the megastar stopped by the megamall over the weekend to host a big celebration for her youngest son.

Cardi B reunited with estranged husband and rapper, Offset, on Saturday to celebrate their son, Wave’s, 3rd birthday inside the DreamWorks Water Park and the adjacent Skyline room, according to a spokesperson for American Dream. The “Up” hitmaker, who owns homes in Tenafly — she posted a video on X, formerly Twitter, from the Bergen County home in July — and Atlanta, Georgia, had an airplane-themed party for the toddler inside the complex, documenting most of the soiree on Instagram.

The 32-year-old announced she was pregnant with her third child last month, the same day news surfaced she filed from divorce from her husband, an alum of the rap trio Migos. During the celebration Saturday, Cardi B and Offset put any differences aside to celebrate their youngest along with daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus, 6. Joining in the fun was Offset’s sons, Jordan, 14, and Kody, 9, as well as daughter, Kalea Marie, 9, from prior relationships.

The American Dream Instagram page shared photos of Wave’s party, with the “Wap” rapper sporting pink hair and a fuzzy white hat as well as a crop top, which showed off her growing baby bump as she posed with Offset, their children and his children in front of the mall’s water park. Cardi B also struck a pose with her hand on her belly on a yellow bench inside the complex.

In Instagram Stories that have since expired but captured by other media, Cardi B and Offset shared their own videos from the celebration, filing one another with their son. Cardi B, who grew up in the South Bronx and whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, shared a video of Offset and Wave dancing to music, with both sporting a pair of Timberland boots, with Wave wearing a pair of sunglasses. Cardi also posted photos of a five-tiered blue cake, heavily decorated with airplanes, luggage and passports with the title “Wave Airlines” affixed to the top.

Offset, in his own posts to Instagram Stories, shared a video of Cardi holding the birthday boy looking out from his sunglasses that had slipped down his nose with a diamond pendant across his neck. Offset captioned the clip “Rizz God,” jokingly asking his son to “show that rizz,” a slang word that is short for charisma.

Attendees also enjoyed an array of food, including orange chicken, Mongolian beef, honey hot wings, fried rice, stir-fried broccoli, Lo Mein, boneless spare ribs, egg rolls and banana pudding, a creation whipped up by chefs Franklin Rosario and John Thomas. MrBeast Burger and Yard House catered the event, the spokesperson said.

Saturday marked at least the fourth time Cardi B has been spotted at the mall, which touts itself as having the largest indoor theme park in the Western Hemisphere and the largest indoor waterpark in North America.

In November 2020, Cardi B and daughter, Kulture, were seen strolling the amusement park section of the mall in matching outfits. In June 2022, Cardi B, Offset and their kids enjoyed the waterpark. In July 2023, Cardi and Offset returned to celebrate Kulture’s 5th birthday, with Cardi B calling the mall “the best place in the world.”

Cardi B, who cracks the Top 25 list of most-followed Instagram accounts in the world, is not the only celebrity who has been spotted at the complex. In June, socialite and reality star Kim Kardashian threw an 11th birthday for daughter North West, and it wasn’t the first she made an appearance at American Dream. She first visited in June 2022, calling it the “coolest mall ever.”
