Cardi B admits her ‘career comes first’ while kids Kulture, 5, and Wave, 2, ‘are second’ as star reveals Offset drama

CARDI B has spilled all in a new interview and confirmed that her career is the most important thing in her life – more important even than her kids.

The 31-year-old rapper posed for the cover of Rolling Stone this month and spoke out on being the center of drama with her husband and father of her children, Offset.

Offset and Cardi have endured a tumultuous relationship which has been on and off for over seven years.

She touched on the challenges the famous couple faced as they stayed in the public eye.

“We have our own bad stuff,” she told Rolling Stone.

“We’re from two different worlds. Sometimes I cannot be … not that I cannot be a wife. It’s just like, my career takes my life.

“You know what I’m saying? My career comes first, then my kids come second. And then sometimes I don’t realize that I’m putting so many things before my relationship,” Cardi concluded.

Cardi and Offset share two children, Kulture, 5, and Wave, 2, which Cardi said are second to her career.

The star added that she doesn’t want to expand in her relationships.

“I don’t want to grow,” Cardi said about Offset.

“I remember last year when we was going through our hard time. And it’s like, ‘Put your album out. You’re overstressing. When was the last time we went on a vacation?’

“And it’s like, ‘I don’t got time to go on a vacation, because this comes first.’ This comes first and then my kids come second.”

“The little things I have to take care of then comes. I sometimes feel like I do probably put my relationship last.”

Cardi and Offset married in 2017 at an intimate home ceremony where they both donned sweatpants.

The rapper moved to Offset’s hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, but ended up feeling lonely and hating it.

The next couple of years of their relationship were tough, with Offset cheating on Cardi.

THE SCANDAL
She opened up about the incident to Vogue in 2020, but revealed that the couple decided to stay together and work through their issues.

One year later, Cardi officially filed for divorce, but said it was due to misaligned values rather than cheating.

“I just got tired of f**king arguing,” she said then.

“I got tired of not seeing things eye to eye.”

The couple withdrew the divorce filing two months later and the next year celebrated the birth of Wave.

Cardi said there were a few things in her marriage that she didn’t like.

“The part I love is that we really like each other, like a support system. We’re really both each other’s cheerleader,” she said.

“I don’t really like talking to people. I’m not as social. If I want something from somebody, he’ll be the one that will talk. Because I don’t like asking.”

BEST FRIENDS
When asked what Cardi will do about her marriage, she admitted it would be hard to leave Offset behind.

“We do love each other. It’s not even about love. We’re best friends. And it’s like, ‘OK. Well, there was a time that I didn’t have a best friend, or I didn’t have a support system,’” she said.

“It’s not even about ‘How do you leave a partner?’ How do you stop talking to your best friend?”

While Cardi and Offset are not divorced, Cardi did admit she was single.

In November, she appeared on Instagram Live and said she had been single “for a minute now.”

Offset was spotted with Cardi in February on a Valentine’s Day date, with her makeup smudged from making out.

Recently, the couple attended the Met Gala afterparty together and Offset even gave her a diamond necklace for Mother’s Day.
